fitting MFD into a passat

You need to replace the whole centre console, and move the climate to the bottom, and lose the storage area at the bottom.

You need the MFD, GPS aerial, plug and play MFD cable, centre console, bracket (for behind) you then need to do a lot of cutting of original dashboard moulding behind the console. I did this with a red hot knife. It's not that hard really, you just need all the parts, half a day, and to work out side with all doors open due to the smoke.
