Hello,

I would like to know if anyone has installed a retro fit sat nav unit into their car after purchase. I see a lot of VW sat nav units on ebay and was wandering if you need anthing other than the unit and if it is simply plug and play. The unit includes the gps receiver and cd card, but i would also like to know if these items are contained within the unit. Let us kow if its worth doing or not.

You need the navi, a GPS antenna, a plug and play harness adaptor, the map CD. If your car doesn't have a double-DIN centre console (with the climate control at the bottom) you also need to do a dashboard mod using a dremmel or red hot craft-knife in order for the new frame etc... to fit in the aperture, and fit a new centre console frame and cage.http://VWNavi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6845
