Let’s just say I have spent many an hour under the dash of a Polo 6N/Lupo doing pedal boxes. The column can be left in and just dropped down and to do this you have to remove the two shear bolts so either drill them out or use an air chisel. Wear eye protection if drilling them out, hot swarf in the eyes hurts.

So a 2002 model (built 25/09/2001) Lupo S with an AUA electronic throttle engine. Models with the electronic throttle have a different pedal box to cable throttle cars and on your car I get the part number to be 6X2 721 115 G and this costs £30.48.

You pull the pedal back to break the clip and then fit a new pedal, daft or what? The part number is 6N2 721 141 and it costs £20.46 or at least that is what the dealer will tell you to buy, the clip isn't listed on ETKA for the Lupo but the part number is 1H2 721 169 at £4.03 and if you loose the little metal disc, that is 1H0 721 179 and costs £1.16.
