Hi guys,
Ive been following this forum for a while but so far havent come across the problem im having.
ive just recently purchased an audi 1.9 tdi 2004. for the past few days ive noticed a kind of chugging noise during light acceleration, it almost sounds as if the turbo or some sort is still clinging on or whirring, theres a very slight dip in power....
no fault codes are recorded so any help from you guys will be deeply appreciated.. dont really fancy visiting the ******** (bad experience)
thank you in advance

I'm not sure what this noise sounds like.. are you saying the car is struggling to pull with a whirring sound? Is it the turbo constantly spooling? Is it making the noise upon idle?
I disconnected my EGR valve as I was getting a little black smoke. I did this and that helped, but, unlike many others on here, my turbo continued to spool. I'm wondering whether it is your EGR valve that is a fault. Have you checked it's operation? It may be that it's not closing correctly after getting sooted up. How many miles has the car done?

hi, thanx marco for replying
the car has no problem in driving, does'nt lose power nor does it give any smoke. i don't really know how to explain the noise aprt from as if there is a slightly sharp grinding noise. this only happens in first and second gear in low speeds if i drive any faster the noise goes away or seems to dissapear. theres no noise during idle.
ive been down to the local audi specialist and he cant seem to work out whats causing the noise, but he did mention something may be wrong on the transmission side but doesnt know what.... just a guess!
im coming up to my 2nd timing belt change and thought it makes sense to change the other belts and water pump too.
