Hi All,

I had my front pads replaced about 2 months ago and I'm now getting a strange banging noise when I press the brake pedal. This only happens when I'm in traffic or stopping at lights etc. The noise sounds like a thud and I think I hear it from the middle of the car but not all ways. The pads make a screeching noise too if that helps? :banghead:

If anyone could offer any advise that would be fantastic.

Thanks

Lee

Sounds like one of your suspension arms are worn and clunking when you brake. My car used to knock when reversing slowly and going down steep ramps in multi story car parks. It was the top nearside arm which was about 65 quid to buy and 40 to fit.The mechanic recons i'll end up replacing them all in the next few years.Hope this helps.
Didn't see date sorry.I'm a plonker.

Well it was damn hard to place and also not easily repeatable which made me think it was something more sinister :-)

Thanks for that, another thing off the list...
