Not sure if this is the right box to write in but here goes, just wish I had found you this am. My Audi 80TDi K reg, same owner 11 years, serviced by same people 8 years or so. Three days ago on start up the engine was very clackety noisy unlike its normal sound, when driven and warmed up seemed ok, did this two days running and put it down to very cold weather. A mile from home it suddenly hiccuped and the engine management light came on, I coasted home just using the engine which did not sound right when I got to my drive. This am started with AA watching and a lot of white smoke and deisal smell but sounded almost normal. Engine management light did not come on. Not sure what the garage are going to make of it. Never had injectors, maf units or any thing like while I have had it. Just about everything else, power steering pump, water pump, new radiator, window screen washer pump, three cam belts since 61000 miles when I got it in 1996, (now 144600) various lights, brake pads, windscreen wipers, dash lights. Oil/filter change very 5000 miles. Love the car just hope it is not too expensive. Serviced and mot four weeks ago. I do a 500 mile round trip every 3/4 weeks with shorter trips inbetween . Will let you know what happens. AA was not surewhat it could be but followed me to the garage with no problem ocurring.:1zhelp:
