I had a problem with my A4 1.9 TDI sport on a 51 plate. I had to use a mechanic of a friend as i was stuck (you know whats coming!) He ofered to sservice the it which i agreed to. When i go it back i noticed it was really noisy on cold start, then when i got his invoice i found he had put 10w 40 oil in it!! I know these engines are sensitive to such. Excuse my ignorance but could the noisy start up be caused by him putting heavy oil in it?? I would add that it has since been changed to Castrol edge w 30. Anyone help??
