Telephone Prep

I have a Treg with the factory fit tele prep - trouble is VW don't make the cradles for many phones and no-one knows what cradles VW are making. I have also just been told that the blue tooth part only works if your phone is in the cradle!!!! Not sure what the point of blue tooth is in that case - other than buying a stand only unit i.e. a 'Parrott' or similar, does anyone have any suggestions.
