hi there

i have a 2001 51 reg A4 sport 2.5 TDI and the alarm keeps going off on its own, i've tried various things but have not had any luck so far. i have taken the car to a garage who put it on the computer and came back with 16 fault codes. the codes were Crash Signal from Airbag Controller: Implausible Signal, central locking and alarm faults. the guy at the garage is not sure exactly what is causing the faults but said it might be the ecu. can anybody shed any lights on this problem please?

thanks:confused:

9 times out of 10 it is the micro switches in the door locks, on the Avant its usually the tailgate lock. A read out of the measured value block will tell what has activated the alarm the last 4 times

Hi thanks to all the posts about the a4 alarm problems. Having followed the posts on this forum I have managed to fix my alarm problem. The cause of the alarm problem and the interior lights going on & off was the comfort control module located in the passenger’s foot well. The module was damp from water leaking in underneath the battery bay. I clean and dried the holes under the battery and dried the module out. Remove the glove box and move the carpet back to fine the module, its a black box with a circuit board inside. You can find out how to do all this from the posts in this forum. Now the car works fine.

Thanks to all:D
