Gearbox issues

Need advice please, I have an A6 c7 3.0 v6 fwd and I think that something in the gearbox is making an awful sound, especially when eccelerating. Could be a bearing. The box is an MWV, would a 6 speed box from the same car but a 2.0, like an NEJ fit?

Conversion is possible but a huge job and you would need a donor car as there are multiple differences, what is the VIN.
