Mechatronic Unit / Gearbox Coding

Hi,

I need to replace my mechatronic unit however as they are really expensive to order a new one, I have found complete gearbox including the mechatronic unit.
The gearbox code, mechatronic and everything matches with my original one.
My question is if I swap the gearbox with mechatronic do I still need to get it coded to the VIN?
And if yes where can I find the place who does it?

A new box is a "Vehicle Intelligent Part" and is ordered to VIN so I suspect you may run into some component protection issues and need someone with ODIS and security clearance.
