GTD horn

2011 gtd mk6 , I had the airbag and steering wheel off to change the indicator switch and now the horn doesn't work , the small round connection on the back of the airbag is definitely connected , which wires on the multiplug do i test to make sure the horn switch is working ? or any other suggestions , I have read if the airbag isnt seated properly then this can cause the problem but I am pretty sure it is seated correctly ?????

The steering wheel inputs (and outputs) are transferred to the steering column control module where they are converted into CAN BUS data to the Body Control Module which operates the horn so you need a system such as VCDS to see if the horn binary signal is being received by the steering column controller and then transferred to the BCM for activation of the horn output.

I do have the free vcds version , will that be able to see the horn binary signal ?

I cleared a fault code on 11 instruments and now the horn works fine

The instruments are address 17, address 11 is ECUII so not relevant to your car.
