Hi

I just took delivery of a new Golf eTSI black edition, and there does not seem to be a trip meter.

I looked at a few you tube videos which show it in the digital cockpit, but my display has the digital fuel gauge in that spot.

The manual says that it can be reset in the vehicle>status> distance covered setting, but there is nothing like that in my car.

Have they actually done away with this function ?

Thanks39477

There is no Trip counter in the old fashioned sense. There are 3 measurements of distance travel in addition to the lifetime distance traveled. These are all accessible in the data section of the car on the main infotainment screen or can be disp;layed in the centre of the speedo or rev counter dials. They are "Start" which is distance traveled + time driven, average speed and consumption since start of journey. This resets after the engine has been off for 2 hours, or can be manually reset. There is "Since Refuelling" which is the same data since the car was last refuelled and automatically resets each time you refuel. The final one is "Long Term" and is has the data since it was last manually reset, although I have a suspicion that speed and mpg are an average over a specific (?10k miles) distance. This last one is probably the closest you have to the old fashioned trip meter
