So another week, another car challenge, rattle noted from front left corner, stuck my head under the car, 1 bolt from the gearbox support bar missing, 1 finger tight :aargh4:

Ordered a missing bolt (Item 4 on this picture) https://www.drive2.ru/l/650520558089277563/

Questions are:

Is this a stretch bolt, therefore the one which was finger tight needs replacing as well?
How tight should this bolt be? As tight as possible, or is there a technical torque setting I should use?

Bolt is a M10 x 35 with a flange

Thanks!

Paul

Finest bolt, never break, made from finest Stalinite. Is good.

I tried to order a gear shift circlip for an S2 and two heat shield bolts for a Golf 2 16v from VW Classic in Germany, so new old stock. I was informed I could not have these parts because in the 90’s they were made in Germany from Russian steel. The UK has an import ban on Russian steel products so I can’t buy them but if we were in Europe I could, ******* Brexit *****.

Guess I was not clear with that posting eh, bolt did not come from Russia, bolt came from a UK ebayer selling "genuine VAG parts" apparently, turned up next working day, so that was a bonus,

The link was for a picture, so you could see which bolt I was trying to explain had fallen off the car, and hence I need the recommended torque setting, before I just do it up as tight as possible?

Thanks

Paul
