Hi guys, appreciate anybody's help.

Just replaced my EGR as I had a rough idle and it felt like the engine was going to cut out. EGR seems to have fixed that but now it's given me other issues.

I get a glow plug light when I'm on the motorway and I can't accelerate, I have to connect to my Carista app whilst driving and clear the code on motorway and then the car seems to drive absolutely fine. It also jerks when accelerating from 1st gear at about 15mph speed.

Have I got an unlucky faculty EGR ? It's a Hella branded one so not a cheap crap one.

Fault that appear are
P0403 EGR A control unit
04891 EGr circuit

Thanks again

16787 (P0403) - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (N18): Malfunction

4891 (P0403)- EGR Valve (N18) - Malfunction

That should be OK so now it's wiring checks

Can you give me any advice on how to do that. Do I need to take it to a mechanic. I do service my own car and replace some items myself like brake pads springs shock absorbers that's how far my knowledge goes. Thanks

You have to get at the ECU, then cut off the chasity security belt so you can use a multimeter and wiring diagram for pin to pin check ECU to EGR valve.

Hey guys, I took a gamble and replaced the new EGR. My gut was saying it's a faulty valve. It turns out it was the actual EGR. Just test drove vehicle and no hiccups on acceleration and no limp mode on motorway. Appreciate your help anyway. Thanks 😃

It is why we only fit genuine.
