When I got this car I noticed that the windshield washer fluid is not sprayed on the same way like every other car I've owned. It's more like a mist, very sparingly. Is this normal for a B6, or is it something wrong with the nozzles?

Passats are equipped with 'mist' windscreen washer jets but there should be a good flow and coverage still which suggests there is an issue with yours. Often the corrugated plastic hose lines crack and leak especially near the pump under the bumper cover where a leak may go unnoticed. Pump motors are also know to wear out.

I replaced my plastic line with a 2 metre VW beetle rubber line which is just the right length as mine had cracked.

Well, that makes perfect sense. Yesterday I was using the washer a lot and I got a "Top off wash fluid" message. I thought that was odd because I just recently filled it up and I've not been using the washer that much. Will buy a Beetle hose asap and take it from there. Hopefully that will do it, if not I'll have a look at the washer jets. Thanks a lot. Cheers.
