Android Auto / Apple Carplay (HN+R)

Hi All!
So the last car I had had built in Nav and I never used it in the 5 years I had the car.
I just think the systems are a little crap especially when compared to how detail Google Maps / Waze is with traffic and police warnings.
Picked the car up today and prayed that it would have the ability for me to flash the Android Auto / Carplay functionality onto it however its running:

HN+R_EU_AU_P0770

Now that doesn't mean alot to me but what I did notice is that theres no Aux and no USB's in the armrest area which suggests to me that even if it was possible I'd have no way to connect anything.
This meant that the big central screen was just in my way and did nothing the whole way home (What do you use it for? If not maps whilst driving?!)

I've had "Android Auto" head units and upgrades in the past replacing the whole stereo but they were always complete trash. Slow, buggy and unreliable.
I'm old now and I don't have time to mess around, Is there a solution to my issues?

When I google it this comes up:

They appear to have good customer support but I'm wondering if anyone has used it or have a better recommendation.

My dream would be just to upgrade the existing system to something that supports android auto in the MMI

I installed Carplay on my 2013 A6 using this product.

Works great and once set up it connects wirelessly so you don't need to plug your phone in. If you don't have an AUX port then you will need the adapter that costs about £10.

I assume the android auto will work ok, but the company where very helpful and are based in the uk.

The YouTube video offering free CarPlay only applies to the facelift A6 C7.5 after 2016.

Thank you so much, I've seen this come up in another thread and its about half the price of the one I was looking at from Integrated Automotive which seems like a similar box.
Have you had any issues at all with yours? Crashing or anything like that?
These little computers that sit between the controller and the Audi MMI unit seem fantastic, 10 years ago this sort of thing felt unheard of!

I've just purchased one with the MMI to Aux cable and a reversing camera.
Hopefully this is exactly what I've been looking for!

I’ve had no crashing with mine and it works fine.

I would advise that you take your time fitting it, as fitting the new wiring loom behind the existing unit is a bit tight. I found a very useful video on YouTube for a different unit that shows how to dismantle the dash etc, but I can’t find the link, but if you search for audi A6 C7 CarPlay retrofit you should be able to find it.

This video shows how it works including Siri voice activation. (Sorry, no examples of android auto, again a different manufacturer but mine works exactly the same)

I did something similar, I put an instruction thread on here somewhere (it was about 3-4 years ago) - let me know if you try and I will dig it out for you.
