The engine mounts on my A6 (4F0199379BH - 4FO199382BL) have a 2 pin electrical connection on them - does anyone know what this is for - I asked Audi when I was in the other day - 1 guy admitted he did not know ( no surprise) and another guy said it was for electrical adjustment ( I'm thinking not!) - possible knock detection?

Variable damping according to this: Sensor connected to motor mount?? - AudiWorld Forums (https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-b7-platform-discussion-69/sensor-connected-motor-mount-2674348/)

Ah - ok, so he was kind of right!

I was trying to find the source of a vibration - its not bad, but it sounds like the engine is touching the chassis - I've checked and it isnt - so my next thought were the mounts.
I took the both off to find that the offside unit looked perfect while the nearside unit looked a bit 'tired' - It had a split around half of its circumference and what looked like thick grease coming out of it.

There were no fault codes flagged on VCDS - I think I will replace it
