I am new to forums and so forth so please bear with me!
I parked my 18 plate Passat B8 in Ocotober 2022 and have not touched it since. This weekend I tried the remote fob, obviously car battery dead, tried the emrgency key, super stiff, gave it a good squirting of WD40, key turns almost 180 degrees in both directions, but does not unlock, maybe feels as if the barrel is turning in the fitting? Borrowed a kit to ease open the drivers window frame and pull the door handle with a rod. The handle comes back nearly 90 degrees but does not unlock the door. Can anyone suggest the next step? Is there a trick to opening the bonnet? or maybe through the boot?, I have the estate version. Thanks for any help. Trevor.
