Finally got around to retrofitting electric tailgate on my 2005 C6 3.2 quattro today - its been nearly a year in the making ( can't rush these things!!) - gradually bought all the bits from ebay as they appeared and constantly read B5Nuts write up on how to do this.
Long story short..... everything is in and working - lid goes up and down as it should - HOWEVER.........
the tailgate latch ( the one on the boot lip not the tailgate) does not work. When the tailgate hits bottom (close) and latches on to the latch it does not retreat to pull the tailgate fully shut. It doesn't do anything.
My question is....... how does it know when it has been engaged by the tailgate? - I am presuming the position of the motors tell it - and this might be my problem.
According to VCDS when the tailgate is fully open it is at 115% - when it is closed it is at 50% - i'm thinking its kidding itself that it is not shut totally.
I can set the open hight easily either by VCDS of pressing the close button in the boot for 5 secs - but is there a way to calibrate the closed position to 0%?
