I must be a total numpty but I can't find the master cylinder on my 2008 2.0TDI C6 Avant!! Should be accessed through the 'apron' at the rear of the engine bay but whereas the manual shows the plastic grille cut away revealing the yellow filler cap there is no cutaway and no access through the 'apron'

Any one else's gone missing?!
Thanks

You have to take the plenum chamber cover off

The "Apron" you're referring to is the plastic cover of the plenum chamber below the windscreen. You need to remove the "apron" to get to the master cylinder - that's what Crasher means.
Cheers!

The big flat palstic thingy...
Thanks.. my history in aeronautical engineering has plenum chambers down as vessels used for holding pressurised gases rather than a hole for hiding critical service items!
Found the brake master thanks, the handbook and every video on Youtube shows a cut out in the cover so , as the handbook says, you can check the fluid level 'at a glance' Not having to take big bits of car off!
Thanks again for your help

"The plenum chamber is a chamber located in front of the windshield, where air pressure is above atmospheric. It provides a volume of air which is drawn into the car from the chamber through the heater, air-conditioner or vents." Part of the HVAC.
