Well i finally bit the bullet and bought my first Audi after been a firm VW Owner since 2005.
I very recently got my grubby mits on a very low mileage 2017 A6 S Line 190 and although overall very pleased with the car its certainly lacking that oomph i was expecting over my old 2014 175 CC. The car feels somewhat lethargic and i really have to bury the throttle to get it really moving. Now i can only assume the car was a victim of Dieselgate and as such had its pep somewhat muted. The fuel consumption although not bad for such a large car is only just on par with my old CC and nowhere near the mpg i feel i should be getting. (I don't hoon the car and i do a 126 mile daily commute which is 90% dual carriage motorway driving) The car has a full up to date Audi service history.
So my question here is, is there anywhere in the Oxfordshire area that someone could recommend from experience a decent tuner for remapping. I'm not expecting the world as its my daily, just want it to get up and go a bit more and hopefully improve the fuel consumption a tad more.

Revo do remaps for VW stable cars, they have a dealer search on their website. But I think that your car hasn't been affected by Dieselgate, the Ultra 2.0 engine from late 2016 onwards, second facelift, did not have the offending software, as far as I know. Mine is late 2016 and didn't have or need it.

The 0-60 of the 190 is the same on paper as the 175, I believe the extra oomph went into pulling higher gearing in an attempt to improve mpg.

Ahh, thanks for that. I need to do a bit of digging then. It could just be down to me needing to get to grips with the car a bit.

To be honest, while the performance is 'Adequate' a little more sparkle won't go amiss, I'd go for a modest HP boost and see what they can do in terms of torque. Have a look at Piston Heads, see what they can recommend. Just remember to avoid 'tuning' boxes and people who promise the earth and it'll be fine. Do us a favour though and let us know how you get on.

Revo seems to be a reputable company with reputable products.
The Ultra engine with auto gearbox can be a bit sluggish to get going, but Sports mode is significantly better. Moreover, if yours is an auto, has the gearbox been serviced as required, i.e. at 38k miles or 2 years intervals? I have only put Shell V-Power Diesel in mine, and it is adequately pokey, maybe try a premium diesel to see if it makes a difference?

Nope 6 speed manual with 36k on the clock on the way home from work tonight. I might give the Premium diesel a try but at the moment keeping costs down is a must until the wifes business stabilizes. Ahh the joys of being self employed (the boss lady that is)

I'm going to give the car a few months of ownership first, see how things pan out then probably delve into a cheeky little remap up to 228bhp which seems to be the standard sort of next level up. Defo no tuning boxes, it will be a proper map.
My lad had a VRS Octavia Estate a couple of year back (pre covid) which had 236bhp after a remap and that was quite noticable when we did a couple of comparrison runs against my 175 CC. As for any long term fuel consumptions differences we never found out as he moved it on to a BMW M2 Competition. Holy cow that was just stupidly quick.
Once i get the map done i will report back.

make sure you report back. I've been looking at remap options as well for my 13MY 2.0TDI A6. Definitely considering the Revo, they have a good repuation.

I would consider a throttle controller first all these drive by wire electronic throttle bodies controlled by the ECU have accelerator pedal developer coding with around 4 settings of sensitivity that remappers don't go into .
Of those settings these modern cars accelerator pedal sensitivity is on the lowest setting desensitising responsiveness in an attempt to eek out any fuel saving and reduction of emissions .

So after 8 months of useage and getting used to the car, when you are sitting in 6th at 70mph and hit the throttle it does pick up well, drop a gear and yup it does go for a tank. Its the low end that keeps catching me out as in too high a gear it just bogs. Now again this is down to me really needing to stir the gearbox more.
I now understand why the Autos are so popular and that much more to buy as i'm sure the the way the car reacts to you hitting the throttle is considerably different over a manual.
So for the moment i'm holding fire on a remap (plus i think i have a clutch issue that will be looked into in the new year)
