Hi all,

Hoping someone may be able to help. I have a yellow power steering light on, was intermittent, now it wont clear. Had it scanned:

Obviously I am dreading a potential £4k bill for a new rack....

Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks in advance

Have the lower covers removed and the steering gear plug removed to clean it with electrical cleaner and blow dry, often the steering gear is encased in soaking wet compost.

I did have it checked, covers off and everything inspected last week. I might do it again but really deep dive into cleaning everything and blowing everything out.

I have also bought a replacement wiring harness, same part number, in the event that the fault doesn't clear, to at least eliminate certain things.

I did have it briefly scanned with Odis and it was showing as implausible signal to the power cable, the plug that is in on a diagonal angle. I did wonder if it was an issue with my battery too as it is only showing as 67% effective.

Hoping it is not an issue with the control unit on the rack!

Fit and code a new battery, EPAS systems hate low voltages.

Booked in in the morning for a battery check. Can get a battery fit and coded for £155 if it is on the way out. Had it looked at very briefly by a mechanic mate today and it is struggling I think. Was at 80% efficiency, but 67% charging, and that was after being on the CTEK charger overnight...

With those values after being on charge overnight I would think the battery is less than perfect. It would do no harm to change it, other than drain £155 from your wallet, I am assuming it is is the original battery and therefore at least 4 years old
