Confused indicators

Off to work yesterday - stupidly early (thankfully) - Six miles in suddenly noticed if I indicated right on the switch I got left flashers, left on the switch got nothing. Still doing it on the way home then suddenly fixed itself.
It's happened once before, about 12 years ago, but the other way around (signal left, get right - signal right, get nothing) and again sorted itself out after about 20 minutes or so. Any ideas as to why?

Touran 1T’s do suffer water leaks from the lower screen seal which can get into the central electrics and steering column, any evidence of excess moisture such as heavy condensation?

Interesting, I've not noticed any issues with condensation or anything pointing to a leak but something to investigate further. Thanks for the suggestion.
