Morning,

I'm currently getting a droning noise when turning left in gear at around 15-20mph. Or when moving off the mark (forwards or reverse) with the wheel turned, it's like a droning noise. It does not make the noise with the clutch in when going around the same corners, at the same speeds. Anyone with any ideas, seems by process of elimination it isn't the CV joints as the noise would still be made not in gear? I'm thinking Gearbox oil? DMF/Clutch?

What’s the VIN? I wanted to say it’s a wheel bearing? But you are saying the noise goes away with clutch in? Clutch release bearing on way out maybe?

CV's click, wheel bearings drone BUT also worn out gearbox oil can cause the differential to groan and in the circumstances you get this noise it is working quite hard so I would do a gearbox oil change first.

OK thanks, will do that first. Am I correct in thinking the BKD has a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the side/top?

The 02M box has a drain on the bottom and a filler plug on the front, the drain may be a tamperproof.

Will there be enough room to fill just with the bottle or will I need to get some kind of plastic pipe attachment ? Thanks again.

Either a long tube from above or with a pump from below like we use.

Thanks again. The drain plug is a hex, have seen 2 different sizes, 14" and 17" take it mine's a 17?

Gearbox oil changed, amazing how smooth the gears feel when changing. Noise has gone but have only driven 10 mins or so. Thanks Crasher.
