Hi, I have an Audi A4 B8 2014 Quatro.
I have had to change one of the rear wheel bearings to cure a whine (75k Miles) but for the life of me, I cannot find the torque settings for the rear suspension parts which all had to come apart to remove the bearing.
Why on earth did Audi fit the hub spline bolts from the rear of the hub carrier and not from the front which would have made the job a lot easier?
Incidentally, my local Audi dealer wanted £180 for a new bearing (SFK) but I sourced one for much less than that.
Thank you.

Sign up to https://erwin.audi.com/erwin/showHome.do, it costs 7€ an hour. If you pay a days rate of 30€ you can download and save as a pdf the entire workshop system for the car including Technical Product Information notices.

Thanks Crasher.
probably too much info for me. I just need a few torque settings, probably about 4.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed I can find them.

Have you got new nuts and bolts?

38703I fitted 4 splined bolts between bearing and carrier and 19mm hex bolt for the end of the drive shaft. Re-used all the others.

Every single nut and bolt is one time only, torque a used bolt to new spec and it is likely to fail, possibly in service, which could be interesting…

Crasher, Cant be true. Are you saying that the camber adjuster bolt should be changed every time the camber is adjusted? I’m certain that tyre shops adjusting the rear camber would not change that bolt.
I’ll pop into my main dealer and enquire about torque settings and bolts.

As I said, all one time only except camber. One thing that troubles me though, you went to all that time and trouble to avoid spending 7 Euro's?

Not at all. I didnt realise that the bolts would need to be replaced until I had finished the bearing renewal. I’ll get some new bolts and change them. Or did you mean the getting the info from the payable web site?

I am thinking of retiring, nearly 60 and after 42 years on the spanner’s I am exhausted, I keep picking up bugs.

I agree to disagree with the theory that all bolts are a 1 only use we use a air gun on all nuts & bolts

I know of a number on instances where this has bitten people such as the Golf 5 SDI BDK engine where the engine consul bolts have not be replaced and torqued correctly so the bolts have failed and snapped the lug off the block rendering the engine scrap and again on Golf 5 where the wishbone rear bracket bolt has snapped into the centre section.
