Hi I have issue with my 09 Passat where it seems to start first go when cold but shortly after when restarting would take several times
Have new starter installed and also tried crankshaft sensor as advised but either has worked. Running out of ideas. Someone says timing may be out on belt? Any ideas or similar issues

No fault codes stored? I know you have a new starter but it would still make sense to have the cranking rpm checked, it MUST exceed 280rpm. As for the timing, yes a check of the "torsion value" is highly recommended.

Thank you. No faults stored that I’m aware of. Every morning first start no problem or after work. But if I drive even for a few mins and stop. It will take a few goes to start eventually Car in great Nick only for this. Like I said crankshaft sensor didn’t fix the problem. Very frustrating

If there are no codes then it is down to studying measuring blocks. If you think this is frustrating, you should try fixing some of the **** I get thrown at me!
