Fan Relay Location

I am trying to locate the fan relay on a MkV 2.0 FSI. I only have a basic code reader and got the below message after the management light came on.
Is the fan relay in the circuitry for the fan or does it have a normal relay (similar to picture below) located else where ?

The unit in the picture is PQ34 platform (Golf 4 etc), on the PQ35 platform (Golf 5 etc) the fan controller is built into the main fan and triggered by a signal from the engine ECU.

Thank you Crasher. The A/C is not working, could this be related? The ECON amber light illuminates but the compressor does not kick in. The A/C is full of gas. I think I need to spend some time with a multi meter.

The PQ35 compressor is constant drive modulated delivery, you will never see it “kick in”. The way we diagnose the system on these is “no codes (i.e. lots of gas) no chill, new compressor” and we only fit new Denso and it is wise to fit a new condenser as this is a Denso warranty stipulation.
