Is there some kind of valve in the ad blue pipe work on the car, when topping up the blue level when the dash tells me, when I put the filler nozzle from the pump in the hole and pull the trigger it kicks and stops flowing so I now have a 5 litre drum with me each time I have to top up and I simply put nozzle in drum and fills with no issues and top up the tank from the drum.

Most of the ad blue pumps on forecourts are designed for HGVs and deliver at flow rate far in excess of what the car's filler is able to cope with. The air tube in the tank that prevents a vacuum forming will also be unable to expel air fast enough for the incoming liquid causing the pump to think the tank is full.

I've never seen a fuel station that has ad-blue on tap that didn't serve trucks. There's absolutely no need for it for cars - 10l is mostly enough to do 5000 miles in a car, and that's a can from the display.
Trucks hold about 100-150l of the stuff and consume it 10x the speed of cars, so if they have a machine and a tank of it, they have truck facilities.
