I've got my C7 Allroad in at a main dealer, they changed the mechatronic on it last year and have been investigating a reoccuring gearbox malfunction warning light. They have just told me it might be the gearbox itself that is now faulty. I'm wondering what my options are, has anybody else had a gearbox change done? Thanks

Would it be under warranty / free to you? Is cost the main concern - or are you querying whether a replacement will have that "as originally built" dependability / reassurance (which seems to be lacking on the original 'box of course :)).

I have changed gearbox under warranty on my 2017 2.0 tdi quattro in desember. I still have some clunking sounds from the new box when i'm pushing the brake pedal in neutral, and some clunking when i accelerate / deaccelerate.. I think it is the same sound, coming from the gearbox. The Audi dealer is talking about a second new gearbox :O .
