Hello.
I got a 2017 avant 2.0tdi quattro with 7 speed automatic transmission.
Last year I got a clunking sound sometimes when I accelerated and downshifting and the gearbox was jerky on lower gears. I got a new gearbox under warranty in desember, and I change a motourmount i february. The clunking sound got better, but i its still there. It was not that noticeable in the winter when the weather was cold, but now I can hear it since the air temp is higer..
The strange thing I found out is when im parked on a flat spot and put it in N, I get this clunk sound from under my car when I hit the brake pedal. This is when the gearbox is warm.. I doesnt get that sound when Im starting my car in the morning when its cold.
My local shop said the sound comes from the gearbox or the middle diffrential, and when I hit the brake pedal, the proppellershaft is moving..
I'm waiting to get my car into the Audi dealer that changed the gearbox.
HAve anybody elese experienced this? Could it be a fault in the gearbox, og maybe the proppeller shaft?
Sorry for my bad "norwegian" english. :O
Regards Morten
