Apologies all as this does look like poor form in that my first post is asking for assistance. In my defence I did register and post ages ago under username gadgetgricey, but cant remember password and "linked" email address is not in use, so cant be recovered. Hence the new username.
Anyhoo - The issue and my stupidity.
1.9tdi Avant working fine, purchased with a few issues that I'm trying to fix, so purchased a breaker/spares car as you do. Done a few things already, but thought I'd try and swap the dash dials/clocks so that I can get the buzzer working.
Yes Yes, I should have checked on here as soon realised that was a pointless exercise as car would not run with dash swapped. (buzzer worked :) , but needed car to run, so swapped everything back)
Car now starts and get ESP light on which clears after 100 yards and steering lock to lock.
However the light keeps coming back on, and kicks in ESP. Turning wheel can "fix it" but comes back again 100 yards later.
So in summary , car was fine, I tried to improve something and car now worse than before I started.
In the short term just turning ESP off via button and car fine, but would like to fix.
is there a specific process to reinstall wheel/airbag? Reset system?
Do have a scan reader/bluetooth setup, but my mate has borrowed it, so not able to check for codes etc till next week.
Any help would be appreciated.
