Hi Everyone,

Thanks for allowing me to join.

I've been a long time away from the Audi fold, but it's never been too far from my thoughts.

My last two were an 80 and a 100 Diesel back in the early nineties and I've since nearly bought again on
several occasions, but I have now re-joined with a very big puff of black smoke!

It's an 140BHP 2008 A6 BRE TDI which is spraying oil from the top
rear of the engine.

Hopefully, you'll see the region on these two images.

I can't see a leak, though I've only just had it towed back and the
light has gone, so it's had a peering-at, but nothing more.

Also, the 9 pin connector seems to have an unconnected wire - or is that supposed to be like that?!

The Connector itself seems to have taken most of the splashing, as has the area on the bulkhead behind.

The car will not drive uphill - a faint incline it can handle with a very lumpy and very, very large volumes of black smoke.

Also all gear lights flash on and off.

It had previously registered an EGT sensor error, but that disappeared when I re-connected a loose wire.

I think the oil has some added diesel - it rubs off the hands easily - and there's too much.

Joys of motoring!

Any advice gratefully received!

Cheers,

Paul

I think it might be coming from a turbo pipe, so perhaps I should have called it oily looking. Thanks for the link.
