Hello All, so earlier this week my car threw the engine management light which did not go out. Car drove fine and has good MPG at around 780 miles to a tank of diesel. Way better than the last A6 I had with the older engine. I read the code and reset with VCDS and this morning the engine managment light came on again. I have not had the car long but from a private seller so no comeback :(. Car has been driven 3000 miles since purchase so perhaps I am unlucky.
Any way VCDS log is below:

I would fit and calibrate a new genuine pressure sensor and then carry out a forced regeneration.

Cheers Crasher
Would you happen to know the part number. I suspect it’s a Bosch sensor so can I purchase one from GSF if the manufacture part number is the same?
Thanks

No, a genuine sensor from TPS or Audi, from painful experience I will use nothing else. It is VIN specific.

Hi Crasher, quick question. Is that both pressure sensors?

It is all in one

So, an update. I took the car to my local VW specialist as I was on the way home from work and passing. They had just changed the timing belt etc so just to be on the safe side…. As Crasher has also suggested they wanted to change both pressure sensors and see how the car got on. As we were about to go on holiday and delivery on the sensors was while we were on holiday, we decided to add a fuel additive which would clean the exhaust system etc. Tried this went to Wales for the week so lots of up and down hills with gear changes and no return if the error. I then returned to work and went on a job where I drove about 500 miles over three days and still all good. Bonus! The car now needed servicing which I completed on Saturday. Oil, Oil Filter, Ait Filter and Pollen Filter. While I had the air box apart I noticed that there was spot on the side of the car next to the exhaust. I checked the connections I could get at and one appeared a bit loose so tightened it up. Off to London on a job and then to Bristol and today the light can back on. 😭. I don’t think it’s the sensors but an exhaust leak causing the issues. I have tried to take some pictures but there is not a lot of room and the exhaust was still hot. Air box fully removed from the car. Any ideas. Pictures to follow.

So what fault code is stored now, P2002 still?

Same code as before. Taken to local VW specialist today and booked in next week for sensor replacements and forced regen. Bid odd though as when checked with vcds it said it was 300000+m since last regen and they can’t read the mileage with vcds. Hope it’s not been clocked :(

If the loading is over 40% it won't allow a regen. I have seen some bizarre figures about historic regens, I just don't take any notice, only the soot and ash figures.

They were about 14g if memeory serves me correct.

The fault code p2002 covers a multitude i certainly would of gone down the same road pointing to differental pressure sensor (dps) but not before proper checking on this model ie its 5v feed via ecu the exhaust flap motor & gear position sensor & differental pressure sensor shares the same 5v feeds & earths via ecu pin nos a13-a15-a37

So both sensors changed today and a full DPF regen forced through which completed successfully. Garage has asked me to see how it goes and if the fault comes back then they are recommending a new DPF :(

It won't need replacing, just get them to send it to DPF Clean Team, excellent people.

Might end up coming to you Crasher, they don’t want to clean invade it does not work and are then liable for additional labour :(

Itsrainman, hi mate!
I have the same error as yours (P200200) and i was told to change the EGR cooler.. changed and the error is still there.. No power lose, but it happened after i went to a gas station and filled with "bad" fuel (even if it was diesel 55 and most expensive in my city), the next day i've got engine check light and 4 weeks can't get it done:))
I'm just sharing my experience with you, because i was told by the official dealer to change the EGR cooler and they were wrong. I have the same 14g in DPF.
Can i ask you please... do you still have this error (p200200) and check engine light on?

Error was reset after the change of both sensors and a forced DPF regen. I have only done about 10 miles since then so to be honest I have no idea if the fix is permanent.
I got the impression that because the sensors maybe faulty the actual DPF loading was being misread. The garage used parts from TPS so Audi parts and then recalibrate and then drive the car while monitoring the soot value until it stabilises and then run the DPF regen routine and again monitor the soot loading until it drops and stabilises. Fingers crossed. I had the older engine in my previous A6 and the EGR cooler was a lot easier to access than on the Ultra Engine. I’m a pretty competent mechanical engineer but just don’t fancy doing it on the drive over winter :(. Getting a petrol car next time :)
