The exhaust flap inside one of the rear part of the exhaust on my RS4 is rattling. With a soft stick, I can see if moves freely and is loose. I will run the VCDS exhaust check I've seen mentioned elsewhere.
Is it likely that an owner with reasonable DIY skills can fix this rattling exhaust-box-valve. I'm wondering if replacement of the exhaust box is a practical and / or the only solution. On line I see that the exhaust box, with the solenoid / valve inside is about £450. Or is it feasible, advisable to access the interior workings of the exhaust-box and, say, screw it with a clip so it's permanently open.
Any tips would be appreciated.
