Good morning all, my name is Chris.
So it would appear I've been a member here since 2016, which was about a year after I bought myself a VW Polo 9N 1.4 TDI Sport (if you can call it that :D) to use a run around to save putting on the miles on the main family car - Hyundai Santa Fe.
Safe to say, the family car has now gone, yet the Polo still remains, and is racking up some decent mileage now, originally bought with 108k on the clock, now with 163k, and that was with the car off the road for 2 years too.
So my main reason for jumping onto this forum today (apart from introducing myself) is to gain some more information on my next vehicle purchase - yes It's going to be VAG! I was leaning towards BMW, mainly because the wife had a 3 series for a couple of years, but having had my Polo since 2015, done my fair share of maintenance on it, and my overall enjoyment of owning the car has made me stick with VAG. At the minute, the only other car we have is the wife's Pug 208, and neither of our cars are extremely practical for a family of 5. Fortunately, my kids are a little older now, being 4,6 & 10 y.o, so a need for an SUV sized car is no longer required, so instead, I've been looking at an Audi A6 (C6) saloon.
Aside from being a VAG owner, I'm also a biker (of Italian vintage) and and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, working on Business Jets over at London Biggin Hill.
Right, time to stop gassing, catch you guys later.
