Auto box not wanting to reverse up incline.

Hi,

Hope someone on here can assist, maybe someone has even had the same issue?

My 2013 C7 3.0tdi quattro seems to shudder to a halt when reversing up any sort of incline, the engine does not stall but increasing the throttle doesn't seem to help much.
Driving forward in all gears is perfectly normal and there's no abnormal noise.

If i disengage from reverse and put it into drive or neutral then re-select reverse i can move another short distance before it stops again.

Any suggestions please?

Auto as in tiptronic, or s-tronic DSG?
I can't think of anything in a s-tronic that could lock up, but perhaps there is a problem with the electronic hand brake or hill start feature? Could it be getting confused because of a sensor failure, and it's going into hill start mode, and applying the brakes as it's not expecting reverse movement?
A complete VCDS scan would be a start.....
