I went to replace my front passenger / nearside window mechanism as one of the plastic pulleys that guides the wire had broken so was causing issues....

Unfortunately I got caught out in a shower and now the left mirror indicator is hardly illuminating.....

The LEDs appear to be working but are not bright at all.....I had to double check they were working as during the day its hard to see....

I am suspecting that I have got some of the wiring or plugs wet in the process.....

Has anyone got a wiring diagram that I could use so I can depin and put new wires in.....or at least dry out the ones that go to the mirror indicator?

The light bulb light on the dashboard is coming or intermittently.

All the other functions of the door work.

Window switch works (and illuminates when lights are on)
Door locks and unlocks....
Puddle lamp is good....

Seems to be isolated to just the mirror indicator......

Golf 5 door mirror indicators are powered by the door control module (i.e. the winder motor) and commanded by a CAN BUS signal from the body control module so what you see on the dash is not representing the same circuit as that is again CAN BUS instructed from the BCM. I would say it is more likely the indicator unit has failed, they do.

Ok so why am I getting an intermittent light out warning on the dash?

is that not to do with the indicator unit?

so if I replace the complete indicator unit it will solve the dim indicator issue?

appreciate the help thanks.

If the leds aren’t bright then change the unit as crasher says. They are only a few quid on eBay, should fix your dimness and easy enough to change.

Intermittent light bulb on the dash will more than likely be one for the two front side light bulbs. If your dash doesn’t tell you which one it is then the next time the light goes on the dash check which one is out on the car. I may be wrong but I don’t think the mirror indicator failing has the ability to put the bulb light on the dash.
