Hi

I stripped my car ready tpo change the timing belt, but now it's all apart it's different from anything else I can find on the internet.

The issue I have is that I can't get the timing belt back on. Everywhere Ive looked the cam pulleys have three screws which can be losened to allow the new belt to be easily installed, but my car doesn't have this. The is only a single screw on the injection pump pulley and nothing on the cam pulley. The belt is either very slack or just won't go on.

The car is a 2014 reg.

Anyone else experienced this?

In picture No2 you've got the belt going down behind the tensioner ( Silver drum with no teeth on it ).

The belt should be held against the top left camshaft pulley further around the pulley than in your photo, then around the front of the tensioner pulley.

Have a look at this Youtube Video :- Vw Passat B7 | 2.0 TDI | EA189 *CFFB | Zahnriemenwechsel | Anleitung | Drehmomentwerte | Timing Belt - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdTcH2wzQgU&t=382s)

It isn't assembled in those pictures, just lying in place.
