AUX in socket

Hi everyone. My daughter has a 2008 vw golf 1.9 tdi.does this model come with an in built AUX socket? i cant seem to find it
Is it easy to install an adaptor at the back of radio for an AUX input ?also do you need to activate it via scanner once installed ?

I did this a good few years back.
You can buy the socket which fits into the blank buttons by the gearstick, check eBay/Google etc, it's simple enough to pull the radio out by removing the trim and removing the 4/5 screws. There is a dedicated socket and I think an earth screw on the back of the radio.
I found it worked fine with the single cd RCD radio but when I swapped mine for the 6 cd version I couldn't get it to work.
