hi guys i have a strange one after a hard braking my air suspension went down on all 4 wheels .i then stopped it pumped up fine .i then drove twenty minutes .it went down again a few yards from home .i then set to allroad it went up .and it is still up 24hours later....surely if there was a leak it would have gone down on only 1 wheel ,as i have had this issue before and replaced rear airbag last year..any ideas could it be a computer glitch ?

Staying inflated at full height is a good sign of an air bag leak and I would imagine it is a front.

hi all .
still no closer to solving this .no faults showed on diagnostics .suspension stayed up for 10 days while parked up(tried it set at various heights) then drove it again on sunday for 17 miles ,then as i was going up into a car park ,suspension dropped again on all 4 corners at the same time .any ideas is there possibly a level sensor or valve that is acting up ?

hi all still not solved this problem. audi mechanic found fault code saying there is an air leak, and has thoroughly checked and found no leak ?? suspension only goes down randomly while driving ? first time it was after braking fairly hard but only traveling about 20mph twice since i have been driving slowly on an incline , . it stays up all the time while parked up ,even for a week .whole car lowers on all four wheels ,
really looking for help here.

Might be worth speaking to Andy at www.bagpipingandy.com/ and see if he can offer an explanation / suggestion for resolving the issue.

after a lot of trial and error, and a huge amount of help from andy of www. bagpipingandy.com your a legend andy:You_Rock_

That is the Max Speeding Rods copy, I used one a few weeks ago on a Q7 and it has been fine… I have been quite impressed with the quality of their parts. Did you fit a new valve block?

Perhaps you need to revisit the valve block, do you have a pressure hand pump and gauge?

no i dont. but i still have the old solenoid block.i am guessing it was working ok as the new one made no difference ,so i kept it .unfortunately my mechanic is laid up with a bad back.he has vag gear. .bi am thinking there must be a leak somewhere as the suspension will no longer pump up i will have to check with some soap and water first for leaks

I sympathise with him over his bad back, after 40 years and three operations mine is still stuffed.

Could you advise where the compressor relay & 40a fuse live on the c7 allroad please. My compressor is not running, both rear bags are deflated but both fronts remain inflated at normal height. Car sat outside unused for 36 hours in -5c over the weekend, is it possible for condensation in the compressor to freeze and lock it up?

Update.

Found the relay and the 40a fuse this morning. The fuse had blown.

I removed the compressor and the complete inlet hose & filters (thanks to my son for his help & wisdom!). Stripped it down to find it full of condensation. Removed the water absorbing granules and paper filters and dried them out in the oven. Dried as much as possible with paper towels and a heat gun. Re-assembled and connected back to the car. Replaced the fuse, cleared the fault codes and started the car.

All back working as it should, lifting & lowering through the levels.

Pretty sure after finding all that moisure inside that my initial post summising that it had frozen up and blown the fuse was correct.

Thanks Chris for your help, much appreciated 👍

Where the granules, in the pump?
Does the value also need drying out?

The Audi distribution valve block appears to be a sealed unit although I am not 100% certain.

The following youtube video gives a good explanation of the air suspension system and operation. It is for bmw but helpful non the less.
