Hi! WeConnect send route to car question

Hi, I’ve just bought a Golf 8 and downloaded the WeConnect app. It’s all up and working and I can unlock and lock the car etc. What I can’t work out is how to plan a route on the app and then to share it with the car. I feel it should be possible as it was in my previous Mercedes, but I can’t figure it out. Can you help please?

I don't think you can pre-plan a full route but you can add locations via the WeConnect app (search in map by postcode/location and then save) and I think those then turn up in the car satnav (then let the satnav itself figure out the route). To be honest I tend to favour using Google Maps via Android Auto over the VW satnav anyway.

EDIT: actually it appears there is route stuff in there. Select Map, search for a location and then drag the result card from the bottom of the screen up and there are a couple of route-related actions there.

The latest iOS update for the We Connect app specifically mentions one of the enhancemments being the ability to upload a route to the car. Not tried it as yet but it does of course require the car to remain connected to the internet long enough to receive the route. Not something any of can guarantee :o
