SD Card reader

Can anyone tell me if the mk8 golf has a SD card reader and if so where is it

I was told when I asked the same question at the Dealers that the Mk8 doesn't have a card reader as all the communications re updates etc are done online so the card reader isn't now recessary.

No SD card slot on mk8, USB C connectors for tou to use Memory stick.

I'm afraid you will have to invest in a USB C stick and transfer your music to that. I found a dual USB stick that fits the VW slot and the ports on my computer was the best option but a pain all the same. Put it down to progress! The USB port in the car works fine though.

Its not a step back but rather a step forward. Usb Type-A ports are a dead port and the quicker everyone moves to Type-C the better

Multiple options on Amazon for a USB-C card reader

I have just tried the Apple “USB-C to SD Card Reader”

I went to “media” on the Golf infotainment system and went through the source options. It did not even list a new source , only same Bluetooth and WiFi options . And No music track info was displayed either.

If I’m doing something wrong , someone please tell me before I return the SD card car reader.

Alternatively if someone knows that USB-C stick they can recommend that would be great. Thanks.
