Evening all I have a 2011 60 plate tig r line 140 tdi ,6 speed manual, 4 motion.
Would the rear brake calipers have wind in pistons or push back .
Many thanks

My son has 2012 Tiguan which has the EPB, assume yours is the same.

The EPB needs to be wound back first, either with a diagnostic tool like VCDS or remove the EPB motor ( 2 torx screws ) & wind it back manually with a torx bit.

Once EPB wound back, the piston pushes straight back, no winding required.

That is a TRW caliper so put into pad change mode and wind back the piston.

Hello there
you need a diagnostic tool to release them first and then they are push in... no need to turn. You can use water pump pliers to push them back in.
I have got a video on replacement of rear pads and discs on 2012 tiguan which will be the same for yours.
