5 months ago I bought a 2018 Passat estate GT 2.0 tdi dsg. It had 39,000 miles when bought and now has 42,000. I've noticed since purchasing that the recommended oil change on the DSG gearbox is 40,000, but can not find any information on if it was done or not before I purchased it.

I've seen the service history online but it will only tell me the dates not the actual detail of what they did. You also no longer receive the 143 checklist when you purchase a used VW either. I've rang the dealership and asked if they can see if it was done or not but each time I've asked they've said " our systems won't let us see the detail either " which I find very odd.

A week before I collected the car it did have a service so is there a possibility it's has the DSG oil change? Any help would be great as I don't fancy paying out for something that could have been done 🤠

Cheers

I'm assuming you've phoned the dealer that did the service. To be honest I wouldn't want to risk it and get it done again if you can't be certain it's been done.

It is a cheeky little hidden cost that I wasn't warned about either. Worth it though [emoji16]

It does seem a little naughty if VW haven't done it, it technically means my cars warranty was void 3 weeks after purchasing it, as it states the car must have all recommend oil changes and services for the warranty.

In the dealers defense though I did once buy a 5 year old golf from them and they did change the cambelt before I purchased it.

Seems odd then if they haven't done it
