right.

i had MAF issues from since i bought the car. i was just gona get a new one but i read a few help off sumwer on the net, and thought why not. if it dont work im gona get a new one anyway.....

get you MAF out, put it into a freezer bag (plastic bag with a zip on the top?). buy sum Halfords (green and yellow) electrical contact cleaner and sum good quality masking tape.

well, put the maf in (the sensor side down) . close the majority of the bag and through the remaining gap let the spraying begin. spray for about 2minutes until you can see the vapour inside the bag.

then turn the MAF around (and avoid touching any metal bits like the mesh) and spray directly into the maf unit again.

after another min or so spraying take the maf out and it should be soaking wet. let it dry naturally and when it does avoid touching anything metal (this should be really shiny by now) and the fluid at the bottom of the bag should have dirt in there.

now the adjective of the masking tape is so you can mask off the sides of the MAF unit so the air that does come in centres itself in the middle (so your blocking the very end bits and leaving a decent gap exposed) make sure you dont make the gap too small but i [persoanlly masked roughly 15millimetres each side. this allows any incoming air to go into and strgiht over the acutal sensor (or appaerntly it does)

now carefully put you MAF back in, make sure that the MAF is dry and if you got a K & N filter dont bother cleaning and oiling it as thats just gona go against you. for me nothing happended straight away, but once the ECu kinda learnt the new MAF reading i had a big smile on my face.....

now with regards as to how long to keep the masking tape on, i have no idea. iv kept it on 2weeks and i think i shud take it off now before it disintegrates or sumat. ..

thought id share the info wit yourselfs as it worked for me......
