I have a Mk6 77kw tdi 1.6 It has an injector fault and car is in limp mode. Is it safe to drive home? It's 170km from home, runs ok but limited on revs to 2500rpm. It is all highway bar about 10km.
Update: I opted to drive it home, and the more I drove it the better it got. Was not in limp mode and it was not the injectors. It needed a good run to do a DPF burn and blow some cobwebs out of it.
I bought this car really cheap and was told it had major injector problems, the previous owner was going to get stitched for a repair that it did not need. Needless to say I am one happy owner, I had it fully serviced when I got it home and and checked over, and apart from some water in the electrics when the engine was washed it's perfect.
