View Full Version : Audi a6 s tronic jerky take off
Hi everybody. My a6 c7 3.0tdi 2016 had new mechatronic unit fitted under warranty by Audi 2 weeks or so ago. I have been driving it now for a bit,but quite often feel that when pulling away transmission jerks a bit. I only can describe it as if it cant decide wich gear to pull away in. Other than that shifts are silky smooth. Also after repair it does quit a bit of what i can call engine braking. It shifts from 3 to 2 for exmpl. and uses engine to slow down quite a bit, even at very low speeds and it is not very comfortable, but got used it it now.
I been reading a little bit about that jerk at take off and some say that its newest software makes transmission to behave like it. Did anyone had recent software update on their s tronic and has same issue or do i need to take it back to Audi for them to look at it?
I am attaching 2 pictures. One is with clutch adaptation values and second one show software version.
Many thanks.

We have had 4 DSG cars in the family so far. Two wet-clutch cars (VW Jetta and Audi A5) which never jerked on take-off, my old dry-clutch Mk7 Golf which would often jerk slightly on take-off and my daughters wet?-clutch Skoda which does not jerk.
Having talked to a VW garage about the Golf, there is mild jerking which is classed as normal and severe juddering requiring a new clutch pack. Mine was definitely mild so I learned to live with it. I would give it another fortnight to bed in/learn before taking it back.

I think they may not have done the basic settings and adaptation as it takes quite a while and they are relying on it doing it whilst you drive but this can take a long time.
Hi. You might be right there, because values for clutch adaptations did not change at all and that is what very weird. Audi tech said that they do adaptations, but i just find it hard to believe in.
I can do adaptations with my vcds, but not sure if i should be resetting values to factory settings. If i do that,do i need to drive car in special way in order for gearbox to learn or just normal daily driving is going to be ok?

I have only done this using ODIS in Guided Fault Finding mode following the on screen instructions.
I know that using odis is possible to do guided adaptation drive. I will drive another few hundred miles and see how it goes from there.
