hello all.just signed up after many months of reading all on the forum..ive got a audi a6 se 2.0tdi on a 2013 plate and love the car..i really wanted the s line but funds were limited and im still happy with the se model..bit poverty spec but all good.after 34 years of owning the car someone said to me about coding??..which i didnt have a clue about.anyway had it done and it added alot of things to my car with the stop/start.ambient lighting.day time lights.needle sweeps and a lot more stuff..but the extra bit added was the "allroad" option in the audi drive settings as i only had (+individual/dynamic/auto/comfort/efficiency) and added "suspension" settings..before i could adjust the gearbox and steering settings to (auto/comfort or dynamic)but now added suspension mode changes.
just a quick question?how does the "allroad" work withought the adaptive air suspension not being a part of my car?...sorry for the long 1st msg but been trying to find out on google but i cant get no answers37346

The suspension option will do nothing for your car as the standard suspension on the A6 has no adjustabilty

I would say it is a false setting. In effet you have activated a feature that has nothing attached to the other end

oh well..it looks good on the screen anyway..but did notice when i put it in "allroad" mode and adjusted "suspension to comfort mode"the car seemed higher and not able to feel the speed humps as much!..probably my imagination!!!:biglaugh:

If you don't have adjustable suspension it can't be adjusted. It only applies to air suspension.

As mentioned earlier suspension setting will do nothing as your car doesn't have air suspension.
Keep Engine/gearbox in dynamic and steering in comfort.

Just curious here... what suspension do you have on your car? 1BA, 1BE, or 1BK?

One of the codes displayed on the sticker is 1BA. You can decode the sticker options at the site below:

You may be able to enable a function but it will only work if you have the correct equipment on the end. Them at Audi haven’t got a clue when it comes to people modifying there vehicles, a case of computer says yes, so it must be so...

nice one..i did even mention mine isn't adaptive air but he said the suspension will not raise or lower in height but the suspension parts tighten or soften with your selection from the mmi ADS setting you choose.?????totally :confused::confused::confused::confused: now!!

Hi,
This is completely untrue, and likely made up by a salesman who knows less than he should about the vehicles he is selling. There are four options for suspension on a regular A6 C7 (ie not the Allroad and not the S6/RS6). The first three use steel springs and non-adjustable dampers, and the fourth is the adaptive air suspension:
- Dynamic Suspension (code 1BA) - this is standard fitment on SE spec cars
- Sports Suspension (code 1BE) - lowered by 20mm with more firmly tuned springs and dampers - this is standard fitment on S line / Black Edition cars and a chargeable extra on SE cars
- S line Sports Suspension (code 1BV) - more dynamic suspension tuning and vehicle lowered by a further 10mm (so lowered by 30mm from Dynamic) - this is optional and free for S line and Black Edition cars and not available to order on SE cars
- Adaptive air suspension (code 1BK) - electronically controlled air suspension with infinitely variable adaptive damping system on all 4 wheels. Automatically regulates vehicle ride height and damping, including ride height control; different modes (Comfort, Dynamic, Auto and additional 'Lift' function for increased ground clearance) selected via Audi Drive Select - this is optional and a chargeable extra for all cars
If you read the A6 brochure for the C7 model, this is what it lists for the standard equipment for the SE spec:
- Dynamic suspension
- Audi Drive select – Features four pre-configured modes (Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Efficiency), allowing the driver to electronically adjust the engine, transmission and steering.
Notice there is no mention of the Drive Select having any impact on the suspension. The brochure is pretty clear about this :) Sadly your Audi guy is making stuff up with what he's telling you here. There is no way a software setting can have any impact on the spring or damping rates on a car with steel coil springs and non-adjustable dampers.
Cheers!
MF.
