My A6 C7 2011 (3.0 TDI ) developed a steering failure. Complete loss of the electric steering. I drove car to garage and got diagnostics "Steering Rack ECU Failure"
Audi want over £3k to replace the electric steering rack ! I would appreciate some help to understand other options. Somewhere to send the Rack for repair or if i was to purchase a steering rack from a breakers do i need to go back to Audi to get it rec-coded. I can provide the VIN number and the part number on the RACK. Any advise is appreciated please. it seems like a common problem so hopefully there is an easier solution that going to Audi Chris
